Duke of Edinburgh

Cardinal Allen High School offers the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze and Silver Levels to students in years 9, 10 and11 with pass rates significantly higher than the national pass rate. We are in an enviable position in having 4 staff with Lancashire County approved instructors with expedition leadership qualifications and 3 staff that are DofE Assessors. Currently we have 4 Bronze groups and 2 Silver groups running.

Bronze Award

Students working towards the Bronze award experience expeditions in the Silverdale and Bowland areas of Lancashire and the West Pennine Moors.

Silver Award

Students working towards the Silver Award experience expeditions that enabled them to cover the Ribble Way from to Preston to Gavel Gap, Newby Head Moss, one of the fells above Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales.

Training

D of E training is every Wednesday and Thursday evening. Training includes First aid, Navigation trips, Campcraft, Expedition planning and eDofE updating.
