Course Overview: Digital Applications

The Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Digital Applications offers an inspirational approach the subject over 120 guided learning hours.  This means that you will learn practical skills which could be transferred into the workplace.  Even if you don’t want a career in Digital Applications or ICT, the chances are that you will make use of the knowledge and skills you acquire in your chosen profession.

Course Components

UNIT 1: Developing Web Products (25%)

This unit provides students with the knowledge and practical creative skills they need to use web authoring software, multimedia assets and navigation features to produce web products.  Students will design, build and test a web product in a computer based examination set by Pearson.

UNIT 2: Artwork and Imaging (75%)

This unit gives students the skills to use the tools and techniques provided by artwork and imaging software to design and create effective graphic products for specified purposes and audiences.  Students design and produce digital images that communicate effectively onscreen and in print and combine them with other components to produce graphic products.  This unit is internally assessed through a project brief supplied by Pearson.

After school clubs are provided for students who wish to stretch their abilities. Catch up and support is available on a one to one basis where necessary. Some of the support sessions, clubs and activities offered include:
